Insulation & Ventilation Inspection Montreal
Insulation and ventilation affect comfort, condensation and the condition of the attic and basement through a Montreal winter. This part of the inspection looks at what is visible in unfinished, easily accessible spaces.
Our inspections are visual and follow the APCHQ Standard of Practice. We examine the systems and components that are readily accessible and safe to reach. We do not open walls, take equipment apart or move furniture and stored items.
What We Check in Insulation
- Insulation and vapour barriers that are visible in unfinished, easily accessible spaces such as the attic and an unfinished basement

- Bathroom fans
- The range hood
- The dryer exhaust
- The air exchanger, its filters, location and air intake
What This Inspection Does Not Cover
- Moving, touching or lifting insulation or vapour barriers
- Identifying the insulation material or its thermal value
- Whether insulation or ventilation meets code or is adequate
- Air quality testing
Visible signs of water infiltration, condensation, staining or suspected mould are noted in the report with photos. We do not test for mould. When the signs warrant it, we refer you to a qualified mould inspection specialist.
