Interior Home Inspection Montreal
The interior inspection covers the rooms, stairs, windows and doors of the home, plus the safety devices and any visible signs of water. For condos, we inspect the private unit. Common areas are inspected only with written permission from the syndicate of co-owners.
Our inspections are visual and follow the APCHQ Standard of Practice. We examine the systems and components that are readily accessible and safe to reach. We do not open walls, take equipment apart or move furniture and stored items.
What We Check Inside the Home
- Walls, floors and ceilings
- Stairs, steps and handrails
- A representative number of windows and doors
- The walls, ceilings and doors that separate the garage from the living space
- The presence of smoke detectors
- The presence of carbon monoxide detectors
- Leaks, water stains, visible condensation and signs of suspected mould, checked with a moisture meter in suspect areas
Visible signs of water infiltration, condensation, staining or suspected mould are noted in the report with photos. We do not test for mould. When the signs warrant it, we refer you to a qualified mould inspection specialist.
What an Interior Inspection Does Not Cover
- Paint, wallpaper and other finishes
- Window coverings
- Carpets and other floor coverings
- Central vacuum systems and household appliances
- Recreational equipment
- Moving furniture or stored items
- Testing for mould, asbestos, lead or air quality
